DC's largest Public Dog park

nestled between
Capitol Hill & Navy Yard

Welcome to the home of the official Virginia Avenue Dog Park partners website!  We are a community group volunteering our time and energy to support the best dog park in Washington, DC. We help organize, maintain, raise funds, and support DC's Virginia Avenue Dog Park, a free, public dog park located in SE DC, between Capitol Hill and Navy Yard.

We are your neighbors and community volunteers, not paid representatives of DPR; DC DPR manages the hard park infrastructure and basic services (water to the fountains, fences, installing trees, benches, sand, and trash can emptying) but requires local community "Dog Park Partner" groups (like us) to self-organize, pay for, and do the regular maintenance work including:

If you enjoy the park and want to see it thrive as a safe and clean community resource, please get involved:

We're all volunteers that help maintain and organize events for the Virginia Ave Dog Park, DC's best dog park with free, convenient parking, located in Capitol Hill and Navy Yard
Our all-volunteer board of residents does the dirty work that keeps the park clean, healthy, and functioning:from fundraising for the park and necessary supplies and features, to actually sanitizing the park.
The dog park is located in Washington DC's Virginia Ave Park between the Capitol Hill and Navy Yard neighborhoods. It's bordered by L St. SE, 11th St. SE, 9th St. SE, and the 695 Southeast Freeway.

What we've done

Since we're all volunteers and all community / self-funded, we've had to be creative with our fundraising models and events:
